I’m interested in something under the Heading “Crafty Muvva ” about Roddam Twiss. It referred to his conviction for sex offences. What was not known at the time was that Barnardos could have prevented that particular abuse if they had reported Twiss’ activities at their children’s home in Croydon.
I’m intrigued by a reference in your blog to Roddam Twiss who in 1967 was convicted of sex abuse in 1967.
Who is “Crafty Muvva” and did you know that Barnardos concealed abuse against children at their home in Croyden by Twiss which if reported would have prevented these abuses by Twiss.
Hi, I’m glad you seem to care about the poor but you are wrong to sneer at & belittle the Costermonger’s Mission and it’s founder James Henry Orsman who was my great great grandfather a man who worked tirelessly for the poor when many of his class didn’t bother. He was liked by the costers partially because he didn’t condescend & because he helped so many. If either you or I have helped even half the people he did I’d be surprised. Please research him. Try an article by James Greenway called ‘In strange company’ in google
